Lets talk today about how to pick an offer to promote. I know this is the most crucial step in affiliate marketing and if this one goes well, you can be sure of getting success. Picking up a good offer is half the work done in my opinion. This is where most of the marketers fail as this step is very crucial.
So, after you login to your affiliate account, you will see thousands of offers there. Do not just go for the offer which is highest paying, as that would probably have a lot of competition and for newbies like us, its gonna do no good. Its always good to start small and pick an offer/product which is paying decent money and dont have that much competition. The reason being, the costs of PPC are pretty high and if you dont know what you are doing, you would most probably spend your money and will earn nothing.
So, its good to pick something like is in demand (not huge) and is paying somewhere around $8-$15 per lead. I love lead submit offers because you dont have to sell anything. All you need to get from the visitors is fill the form and hit submit and you earn commissions, which is great in my opinion. And this is where you should start.
Since, lead offers convert easily, you will get a good foundation and then will slowly move on to promoting and advertising bigger products. But to start with, lead offers are good. Just pick one which has a decent landing page and has decent commission per submit and you are good to go to the next step.
Our next step would be advertising via Google AdWords and start instant traffic and meanwhile continue SEO so that organic traffic starts to come as well.
Then for advanced level marketers, after organic traffic has established, we will slowly stop the paid campaigns and work only on getting direct SE traffic as this is all free. After you get to this point, there are loads of options to further monetize, but thats for later.
